To continue on from my last posting, one thing I have learned and embraced is that success in any field of endeavour is not an accident. It is a process and a journey, which can yield some surprising results. The end goal of success is not the final result, the journey and what it makes of you is the point of the process.
One of my favourite books on Magic is called CARDSHARK by my friend Darwin Ortiz. When I got this book and started to study it, I realised that my card magic wasn't as good as I thought it was. I felt intimidated by this book and inadequate at the same time. However, the material in this book inspired me with a simple possibility; if I could learn and master some of the routines, it would represent to me a huge achievement beyond the learning of very difficult sleight of hand.
CARDSHARK is the one book that transformed me as a magician and sleight of hand artist. I reached a point where anything is possible and my capabilities were limitless. I want to thank Darwin Ortiz, because he became a friend and his guidance and coaching has made a huge difference to my studies. The point of this posting is that aligning yourself with people who have achieved success is the pathway to mastery and excellence. Who you associate with can have a big impact on your own levels of success. The video below features one of the outstanding routine in this amazing book.
