This event will feature an exciting conversation on communication and performance. A performance of magic is 'empty and meaningless' if it doesn't touch, move and inspire an audience with a profound sense of astonishment.
There are three elements to a great performance; 'Magical,' 'Meaningful' and 'Memorable'. The Mastering Magic Seminar will be exploring these topics in great detail - through conversation and performance. The intention is for all the delegates to come away with a new perspective on what it takes to present magic powerfully so that the audience is left profoundly moved by the experience.
In order for the lessons to be fully absorbed, the seminar will be making a huge request of all delegates who attend. At our first Seminar, we conducted a poll to a simple question. We asked, "At the next event, would you be willing to come prepared to perform your best effect and be open to creative feedback?" All of the delegate answered with a resounding "YES"
"With that thought in mind, if you choose to spend the day with us, we request that you come fully prepared to present a routine that you consider to be your best effect, one that you perform well and get excellent reactions from - I will be doing the same".
You are probably wondering why I am making this request, this event will feature something extra special.
I am planning to share the stage with some really excellent guest speakers who each bring a unique perspective on "Communication, Self-Expression and Performance". My guests will be facilitating a "Hands-On Training" Session where each delegate will receive world class coaching. I am confident this process will add a new context and dimension to us all as performing artist. Their contribution will add unbelievable value to The Mastering Magic Conversation.

I will also be teaching some new routines which will serve as the backdrop for a fantastic conversation about Mastering Magic. It will also be a perfect case study for the construction and design of great magic. What you will gain from the Seminar will be tools and strategies that can be applied to the magic you already perform.
Some questions for your consideration:
Requirements: It is advisable that all attendees have a reasonable knowledge of card magic. By reasonable, I mean that you have a competent grasp and handling of the fundamental sleights in card magic. I will endeavour to explain all of the routines performed with complete clarity. The atmosphere of the seminar will be supportive and non-judgemental. My intention is to create an environment where the craft of magic can be discussed, points of view can be shared and all opinions be valued, appreciated and hopefully learned from.
Please come with the following items: Playing Cards, Coins, Close-up Mats, Pens, a Journal for note taking, Laptops, iPads if that works for you, but not essential. Also, if there is an area of card magic or close-up magic that you would like to discuss, please come prepared with any questions that you would like coaching on. I will do my utmost to ensure that all your needs are met to the best of my ability
